Job Description

Parker Collins is a mental health clinic offering clinical services by a dynamic team of professional and student therapists. Parker Collins has an opening for DBT Program Clinicians to join our growing team of skilled mental health professionals. Post doc, pre-licensure candidates are also encouraged to apply if you are looking to join a team long term and develop your professional growth with mentorship.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Learning as a participant in DBT; this includes participating in the group and doing the group homework.
  • Shadowing DBT Groups weekly as needed for training purposes.
  • Development of DBT Diary Card and Target Behaviors
  • Set up weekly meetings with a DBT Team Lead
  • Shadowing individual sessions with other clinicians as needed for training purposes.
    • Learn and write Progress Note | Treatment Plan
    • Complete prior auth requirements for DBT IOP
  • Shadowing Intakes, learning the intake process, then begin doing intakes
  • Diagnostic Assessment Training
  • Share availability with Scheduling (Admin)
  • Co-facilitate at least one group (3-4 DBT individual clients to be eligible to co-facilitate a group)
  • Build, develop and maintain case load of individual DBT clients and co-facilitate DBT groups.
  • Work on individual marketing for unique strengths and specialty/interest areas to build case load as needed.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to client service and service excellence.
  • Positive communication with the administrative team regarding needs for assistance and/or support
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance and completion of paperwork is an essential requirement of this position.
  • Generate goodwill for the organization and its management among staff, clients, referral sources, the general community, and others pertinent to the clinic.

 Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Personal Abilities Required:

  • Completed at least 20 hours of formal DBT training (we can provide this training for those who have no previous experience with DBT)
  • Completed or plan to complete 50-hour AIR Network training and work towards certification in AIR by attending monthly AIR Network consultation group to complete the 20 hrs of consultation required for certification.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA laws and regulations
  • Demonstrated skill and proficiency with Windows-based computer applications (specifically Word, Power Point, Outlook and Excel Software) and other industry-related software and office equipment
  • Ability to listen and communicate clearly, fluently and diplomatically, orally and in writing in the English language; also, to maintain excellent interpersonal and cooperative relationships while participating in sectional and cross-functional groups and teams involving management, staff and clients
  • Ability to remain flexible, resilient, calm, maintain a sense of humor
  • Ability to exhibit integrity, industriousness, accountability, confidentiality and independent judgment to provide for a cohesive working environment dedicated to achieving the organization’s goals
  • Ability to work effectively and respectfully with staff, supervisors, and others with a variety of working styles to achieve accountability and results using authority and influence sensitively to garner cooperation and maintain service excellence

  • Trauma-informed training such as EMDR, ART, or AIR Network Model
  • Multicultural respect and approach to services
  • Experiences and skill with treating adolescents and adults
  • Ability to engage parents in child and family focused treatment
  • Highly ethical and skilled at keeping detailed, accurate, and timely records
  • Collaborative and team relationship orientation

Parker Collins is a trauma informed and multicultural focused group that is growing and developing programming with goals of making a difference for our communities. All Parker Collins mental health clinicians are paid on a production based model with a generous split for full time staff, with tier system for commission that ranges 50-65% depending on licensure and productivity level. For example, those who average billing 24 sessions a week with majority of the sessions being DBT could potentially earn $108,576 gross annual pay.
