Description
Trainees will develop an understanding of non-suicidal self-injury behavior assessments, safety assessments, suicide assessments, need for hospitalization assessments, and safety planning. Trainees will learn how to conduct effective phone coaching calls and learn the format of DBT consultation team meetings. Using these methodologies, participants will gain the knowledge and tools to effectively apply the principles and practices of DBT consistently with the treatment manual (Cognitive Behavioral Treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder, Linehan 2014 and Skills Training Manual for Treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder). Trainees will gain an understanding of AIR Network Model strategies and how to incorporate the AIR Network Model for trauma and dissociation with the skillsets of DBT. With these competencies, trainee’s practice foundation grows to include the skill development of conducting group and individual DBT utilizing the AIR Network Model for the treatment of trauma and dissociation.
